Michele Anastasio
CoverGirl

There are certain singers that immediately put the listener at ease. This is the case with Michele Anastasio whose clarity of tone, enunciation and God given ability to stay on pitch is quite remarkable.
A rich confluence of individual artistic gifts is rare and Michele is certainly blessed with an abundance of these endowments The sound or timbre of Anastasio's voice creates a set of emotions that gain sweet ascendancy until the last note is sung.

  • “It Had To Be You” is a prime example of the sweetly sensual 'chanson de message d'amour' of this artist. Quite frankly, this may be the finest interpretation of this song that this writer has heard in ages. There is a strong message in this rendition and it is wrapped in sublime delicacy. Every phrase is languidly rendered employing beautiful intonation.
  • Time Heals Everything” … A bittersweet tale of soothing recollection and musings. The line “time heals everything but loving you” embodies the engrossing intent of the writer (Jerry Herman) of this beautiful tune, and Anastasio pays it homage in a spellbinding presentation.
  • “Over The Rainbow” has always had a magical quality and Michele is at her lyrical best. Each word is given special treatment. A bright Latin beat and a hip guitar solo, combined with Miss Anastasio's vocal style, give it new meaning.

This album is clearly a tour de force for a sensational song stylist. Talented vocalists are few and far between in this day and age and I can tell you that Michele Anastasio is firmly ensconced among them.

This is a splendid recording sublimely sung in sophisticated piquancy by a first-rate muse of melodic consistency.
